How the Calculator Works
The flight delay compensation calculator below works on a simple principle: distance determines the compensation tier. Enter your departure and arrival airports and the tool calculates the flight distance and shows you exactly which EC261/UK261 compensation band applies.
• Under 1,500km: €250 / £220 per passenger
• 1,500–3,500km: €400 / £350 per passenger
• Over 3,500km: €600 / £520 per passenger
Is the Calculator Amount What I’ll Actually Get?
The calculator gives you the maximum you are entitled to under EC261/2004 or UK261. The actual amount you receive may be lower in two situations:
1. The airline re-routed you and you arrived within the allowed time windows (then a 50% reduction applies)
2. The delay was caused by genuine extraordinary circumstances (then no compensation is owed)
In all other cases, the full amount shown is what you can legally claim.
